Panorama is Lothar & Matthew's concept album based on the film Panorama Ephemera. The 2004 film was created by Rick Prelinger and is a collage of dozens of industrial, advertising, educational and amateur emphemera films spanning the first few decades of the 20th Century. The collage gives viewers a glimpse at surreal Americana. Lothar & Matthew derived many samples from Panorama Ephemera to create their own soundtrack.
Panorama was created within six weeks, originally consisting of 45 tracks. The demos were featured on Norwich UK's Future Radio, courtesy of Hotrod Hector (a great supporter of Lothar & Matthew), as the album of the week. Panorama ultimately was trimmed down to the 34 songs listed above, with the remaining material to be released as Et Cetera at a future date.
